Packaging Engineer
This is an opportunity to join an energetic team and help grow a microelectronic packaging and materials company. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or someone willing to learn the art and science of our high temperature materials, we have an immediate opening for a candidate with the talent and energy to complement our existing core group.
Work with the team to efficiently transition our customer requirements to production. Assist with all aspects of our vertically integrated powder to package facility. Ceramic slip, thick film pastes, tape casting, green fabrication, firing, brazing, plating, and assembly are just a few of the key ingredients to our products.
Qualifications:
Experience in metals, ceramics, manufacturing, plating, assembly, are of extreme interest. Ability to transition products from prototype to high volume production is becoming increasingly important. Desirable functional skill sets include:
- Mechanical design
- Materials engineering
- Manufacturing
- Creative thinking
Candidate will be responsible for working with Sales, Production, Drafting and Quality with setting up the BOMs, routes, and control plans. When not working on new packages, assist fellow engineers involved in material science with long term projects or short term experiments. Help purchasing with supplier selection processes and material qualifications to ensure product performance, reliability and cost targets are met.
- Determines failure mechanisms related to materials and processes utilizing analytical techniques and/or FEA modeling through our affiliated companies.
- Writes technical reports on research and development activities, process and materials specifications, and internal failure analysis reports. Makes presentations to peers and management on progress.
- Provides guidance during technology transfer to manufacturing engineering, production, and licenses.
- Guides and mentors junior engineers to promote skills growth.
